This tour also includes a visit to the famous Anse Lazio beach just before crossing to the island of La Digue. In this 30 minute journey you will have a good chance to spot few dolphins. Once on the La Digue island you will be marvelled by the timeless atmosphere with the 21st century blending smoothly with the tranquillity of the past when life was lived at the pace of the oxen. Transfer from the jetty to L’ Union Estate will be done by pick-up truck (camion) for a tour of the copra sheds, the giant land tortoises and the refurbished colonial plantation house. The tour of the Digue will be resumed by a pick-up truck (camion) ride to the Anse Source d’ Argent beach one of the most spectacular in the world where beautiful photos of the granite rock formation can be taken.
This itinerary is ideal for anyone looking for some time to relax on beautiful beaches and soak up the Indian Ocean sunshine. Combining a couple of islands such as La Digue and Praslin makes this trip more interesting and allows you to experience different beaches and landscapes. There is also the chance to visit numerous other nearby islands on snorkeling or boat trips.
No trip to Victoria would be complete without a wander through the covered market. It’s small by African standards, but it’s a bustling, colourful place nonetheless. Alongside fresh fruit and vegetables, stalls sell souvenirs such as local spices and herbs, as well as the usual assortment of pareos (sarongs) and shirts.
